Northern Rivers Community Transport

Welcome

NRCT is a non-profit community organisation that provides a range of transport and social support services for the elderly, people with disabilities and carers who have limited transport options or difficulty using public transport. A major source of funding comes from both Commonwealth and State funding bodies designed to assist people to retain a high quality of life in their community. NRCT also receives funding from other sources.

NRCT provides people with personalised and flexible transport and social support options and relies on a dedicated and caring team of volunteers as well as paid drivers. Clients are asked to pay a contribution if they can afford to. Our buses are wheelchair accessible. The target groups for specific Community Transport services are defined by funding and regulatory guidelines. Community Transport passengers include:

Ø  older people

Ø  people with disabilities

Ø  carers

Ø  isolated people with mobility impairment

Ø  young people who qualify for the YOWI program (Youth On Wheels Ink.)
