Family Advocacy

Family Advocacy is a state-wide disability advocacy organisation that supports families of people with developmental disability to advocate on behalf of their family member with disability. They do this by assisting families to develop the skills they will need to assist their sons and daughters to have a good life. Family Advocacy also conducts systemic advocacy which focuses on influencing the 'systems' that impact on people with disability. They attempt to bring influence to bear on these systems at the political and policy level to ensure they are informed and responsive to the lived experience of people with disability and their families. Family Advocacy also provides advice and information to a broad range of stakeholders on the many issues that arise in the life of people with disability and their families.
