NDIS in ACT

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) roll-out is bringing a massive expansion of the disability sector. NDIS in ACT

It’s a once in a generation reform that will improve the lives of people with disability.

The NDIS is designed to deliver greater choice and control for participants – people with disability and their families. And that means it’s bringing in a greater variety of roles, as well as more interesting and rewarding work for people employed in the sector.

ACT NDIS roll out

The NDIS first became available in the ACT from July 2014 for people up to aged 65.

The transition to the scheme has been staged according to age group, opening up the final group on 1 July 2016. This makes the ACT the first jurisdiction to complete the change to the NDIS.
