Corporate Services (CS) 10

People in corporate service roles in the disability sector use professional business skills and experience to assist the organisation to operate efficiently and effectively.

There is a diverse range of roles within the CS job family such as:

  • Human Resources Advisers
  • Quality Managers
  • Financial Accountants
  • IT Network Engineers
  • People and Culture Consultants
  • Learning and Development Consultants
  • Procurement Specialists

As a CS 10, you’re a senior professional with comprehensive knowledge undertaking complex, specialist or advanced work within your discipline. You’ll work with business areas to provide professional support requiring effective coordination of complex issues, and are able to analyse the relevant business environment to identify current and emerging risks and compliance issues.

Plus you’ll undertake analysis and recommend options based on contemporary business practices. Due to your extensive experience, you’ll be consulted by other professionals on complex matters and may manage a corporate services function in an organisation.

Qualifications and experience

There are job roles in the CS job family where formal qualifications and practice registration are a pre-requisite. Employers will specify qualification or equivalent experience requirements for particular roles. To be considered for a CS 10 role, you’ll generally be required to have relevant tertiary qualification plus significant and substantial experience in a specific discipline.

You may also have a post-graduate qualification in a related specialist area, and have good knowledge of standards required through legislation and/or professional bodies. However, as there is always more to learn, you’ll also be expected to undertake regular professional development to increase your knowledge and skill set.
