About the role
Reporting to the Manager, Learning and Development this is a newly created permanent full time position located in our Springwood office. This role will be responsible for implementing L&D policies, strategies and programs to lift the capability of our workforce to enable them to better serve our clients.  This role will provide an exciting challenge for someone looking to use their significant L&D experience and capability to work in a dedicated L&D national team, at the same as providing strong input and influence at the local level.
Our L&D programs include a large range of practice related courses, so experience within the community services sector, particularly in disability services or out of home care would be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide effective leadership to a small team of L&D professionals
  • Work with a range of stakeholders to develop and implement contemporary L&D solutions
  • Provide advice to managers on the implementation of learning options and opportunities
  • Deliver training as required, including leadership and management training. Conduct research that contributes to the development and improvement of learning solutions and methodologies
  • Engage with stakeholders and use data analysis to scope and compare possible L&D solutions
  • Lead the local implementation of a Learning Management System to ensure it is positively adopted 
  • Establish key L&D metrics and performance measures for the L&D team, and Client Services groups, and monitor and report on these
  • Develop training solutions from first principles in consultation with Subject Matter Experts
Skills & Experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in adult education, psychology, organisational development, human resources, social work or other relevant field OR significant experience in a role where learning and development management is the core activity
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence
  • Experience in managing an end-to-end L&D function
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with internal stakeholder to create sustainable business solutions
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team of L&D professionals
  • Demonstrated experience making contributions to the development of strategic directions for L&D which enhance overall business outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience managing a large operational training calendar that engages internal and external providers using a variety of delivery modes
  • Demonstrated experience in managing competing priorities to deliver high quality outcomes within agreed timeframes
  • Demonstrated experience delivering leadership and / or management training
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and presentation ability.
  • Above average proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
