Care Support Worker Picnic Point Sydney

- Regular daily work. (c30 hours / week)
The participant is a 9-year-old and has sustained a severe traumatic brain injury as a result of the accident.
He is generally compliant and willing to participate in as many aspects of self-care.
Morning tasks – support him to get up in the morning, have breakfast and get ready for school. Assistance required with going to the toilet, brushing teeth, getting dressed and grooming. Help him to make choices. Assist with cutting food if required. Engage him to carry out tasks independently. Walk with him to school
Afternoon tasks – Arrive at 3.00pm at school to meet him and walk home with him. Also support him with homework and assist him to engage in any recreational and leisure activities of interest. Support and supervise him with early evening routine including personal care routine
He will require constant supervision. Shifts Monday to Friday (7.30am – 9.30am & 3.00pm – 7.00pm)
The right mix!
He enjoys swimming and attending shopping malls
He responds well to positive and active people and is equally at home with male or female support staff ideally below 35 but not essential
He has no real challenging behaviours but can get a bit tired after a busy day
He is an active child with a happy disposition
There will some travelling involved so a car and full driving licence is essential
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
- Functional level of English literacy and competency in documentation.
- Cert. III in Disability Services (or equivalent)
- Current Driver’s Licence and car essential
- Current First Aid Certificate
