One size doesn't fit all…especially when it comes to our people
At Minda, people at the heart of everything we do, and since 1898 we've been providing industry-leading support to South Australians with disability.
We're champions for choice and believe diversity is key to our success.
Our customers are individuals, and we want them to have the choice to be supported by someone who shares their interests - whether that's sports, dance, movies, IT, the outdoors, just to name a few. We're on the look-out for staff who are as exceptional as the people we support, and we want to know what you're passionate about so we can find a match that's great for you and our customers.
As a Disability Support Worker at Minda you will support customers in all areas of their everyday life whether it be the practical tasks around daily living, helping people access the community or providing opportunities to increase or maintain independence.
These particular roles will be based in our Supported Independent Living teams. These teams provide support to people with a disability who are living in Minda owned and/or operated homes. The roles are within our accommodation based in North Brighton. The roles are permanent part time, offering 20 hours per week spread over a seven day roster.
Our focus is on providing an extraordinary experience for our customers. Your priority is ensuring our customers have a choice about what is important to them and supporting them with those choices. If you are customer focused, can think outside the square when it comes to achieving customer goals, and are eager to engage with and support people with a disability to live the life they want to live, then we want to hear from you.
We require our people to be both adaptable and flexible for both our customers and their families. The hours of work and locations can vary as we meet our customers ever evolving service requirements.
In addition to the above, the essential requirements of this role are as follows:
- Certificate III in Disability / Individual Support (or recognised equivalent);
- experience supporting people with disability and challenging behaviours;
- a current Senior First Aid Certificate;
- a current and valid unrestricted South Australian Driver's Licence; and
- a current DCSI Child clearance
