UnitingCare Wesley Port Adelaide is a large non-government agency providing a range of aged care, community mental health, homelessness, multicultural, youth and family services across the state.

IPRSS North East is a well-established and dynamic provider of support services for people living with a mental illness in the North Eastern Suburbs of Adelaide.

The role of Community Support Worker involves supporting our clients to access and maintain independent housing, develop and maintain independent living skills, access community activities and resources, pursue social and recreational interests and manage and maintain their mental health and wellbeing.

You will:

  • Have empathy for people experiencing a mental illness;
  • Ability to work alongside people to help them reach their goals;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative;
  • Ability to research, access and utilise community resources;
  • Be flexible and able to work as part of a team.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Degree or Diploma in Human Services or,
  • Relevant Cert IV qualifications in Mental Health and/or Disability, or significant work experience;
  • Experience working with people with multiple and complex needs
  • You are required to hold a current, unrestricted driver’s license, and have access to a comprehensively insured vehicle.
  • Some out of hours work may be involved.
