About the Role
Short term opportunity with possibility of extension.
We are currently seeking two suitably skilled and enthusiastic Support Facilitators to join our team in Adelaide on a full-time basis until 31/3/2019.
A Support Facilitator is the key representative of the PIR program at the frontline, coordinating the care of consumers and finding solutions to their complex needs, liaising with all stakeholders and providing feedback on the PIR program. The role is suited to an experienced professional with a background in working with clients with complex needs and mental health issues, a commitment to innovation and systems change that results in better outcomes for this target group and for those with a passion and aptitude for strong consumer advocacy. 
As a Support Facilitator you will work with consumers applying a person-centred, recovery focussed approach. Highly developed interpersonal communication skills will be required, including relationship building, negotiation, advocacy and conflict resolution. Experience working in a culturally sensitive manner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and a willingness to work and train in culturally appropriate approaches.
Skills and experience
  • A tertiary qualification relevant to the health or mental health area, with a minimum of Certificate IV Mental Health (non-clinical) or equivalent with significant experience in working with people with a mental illness.
  • Demonstrated professional and personal commitment to upholding and facilitating the rights of people living with complex mental health and other needs.
  • Understanding and commitment to recovery-oriented principles in mental healthcare.
  • Demonstrated skills in working with clients with complex needs, and capacity to see consumers at the core of their focus.
  • Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to develop appropriate Action Plans.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in advocating for services for and/or working with people with complex needs.
  • Proven ability to analyse problems and formulate solutions in a clear, innovative and resourceful manner and evidence of a holistic approach.
  • Experience in case coordination for people living with complex needs.
  • Experience engaging with clients to offer and seek solutions to complex problems in a resourceful manner using the additional services and support available to enhance recovery outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a range of different service providers (including government and non-government) to access services and/or coordinate service delivery.
  • Current Driver Licence.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role)
