Our Mission:
Due to the social isolation many people with an acquired brain injury experience they are unable to access the benefits of the range of contacts and social networks utilized by the general community.
The mission of Tasmanian Acquired Brain Injury Services Inc. TABIS is to reduce/remove this social isolation by promoting the availability of, and assisting people with acquired brain injury to access a diverse range of community options.

TABIS is dedicated to provide a range of services to people who have Acquired Brain Injury in Northern Tasmania. Our organisation is based in Mowbray Heights, Launceston.

Tasmania Acquired Brain Injury Services Inc. seeks to ensure that people with an acquired brain injury have access to responsive and innovative rehabilitative support options, which promote access, and which foster successful long-term community participation and re-integration.

People with an acquired brain injury and other disabilities may experience difficulties, which impede their re-integration into the local community.
The complex nature, and combination of after-effects of brain injury, may pose barriers for people to resume a place in the community that is personally satisfying and productive.

For this reason Tasmanian Acquired Brain Injury Services Inc. is committed to providing individually tailored and long term support to assist the person to develop their community participation and involvement.

Tasmanian Acquired Brain Injury Services Inc. is committed to the notion of community re-integration as a process over time as opposed to a one-off event.
It is a process of encouraging personal empowerment and creating structural opportunities that supports each individual to pursue greater community participation in a way that is personally satisfying.
