About Marillac

Marillac offers people with a disability, and their families, a wide range of programs and services designed to meet the needs of each individual. We focus our services mainly on the needs of children and young adults who have an intellectual disability.

Our services are based in Melbourne’s south east, and we currently support about 200 people and their families.

What’s the philosophy behind Marillac?

We believe that every person has a right to develop physically, emotionally, socially, intellectually and spiritually to his or her full human potential. That is the basis of all our services. We measure our success by how well each person using our services feels their expressed wishes and needs are being met.

Who runs Marillac?

Experienced, specialist management and staff provide our services. Marillac is administered by a Board of Directors with wide experience in disability services, health, education, finance and other relevant fields. The company is owned by the Daughters of Charity.

Who funds Marillac’s services?

Our activities are funded by the Victorian Government, the Daughters of Charity, private donations and user fees.  Marillac is a non-profit organisation and we aim to keep fees as low as possible and direct services to people with the greatest needs.

Who decides what services a person needs?

Each person who wants to use our services begins by telling us what they want. Then we work together to develop programs and services to meet their wishes and needs. People are encouraged to involve friends and family in this process if they want to.
