Lockhart & District Community Services Inc is a non for profit organsisation which commenced in 1986 as Lockhart/ Urana Communinty Transport.
In 1995, we recieved new funding from Department of Health & Ageing for Carer Respite. In 1995 our organisation became incorparated and changed its name to Lockhart & District Community Services Inc (LDCS).
Lockhart & District Community Services Inc is a Multi Service Outlet (MSO) and receives its funding under the Home and Community Care (HACC) Program, which is funded jointly by both the Commonwealth & State Governments.
The aim of the program is to support the frail aged ( 65 and over, 50 years for Aboriginal Torres Straight Islander) and younger people with moderate to severe disabilites and their carers, to continue living in their own home for as long as possible.
