Family Support WA
Family Support WA is a not-for-profit disability services organisation dedicated to enriching the lives of people with disabilities and their families. Founded in 1998, Family Support WA provides a wide range of services, such as :-
- Respite and individual support
- Connect ATE
- Host Family support
- Interact Camps for Siblings
In the early 1990s, parents and teachers at the Landsdale Farm School, which was originally an annexe of the Burbridge Special School, began to run school holiday camps in the Farm School Cottages.
These Camps proved extraordinarily successful and in order to take advantage of newly available State and Commonwealth Government funding, Landsdale Family Support Association Inc. (LFSA) was incorporated on 5 December 1996.
LFSA rapidly expanded, securing recurrent funding from the Disability Services Commission and Department of Child Protection, and providing services to children with special needs throughout the Perth metropolitan area.
In October 2008, LFSA changed its constitutional objects to allow the organisation to provide services to people of all ages with special needs.
In November 2009, LFSA changed its name to Family Support WA Inc., to reflect the Perth-wide services being provided by the organisation.
