Cooperative Home Care

Australian Independent Living Enterprise Cooperative Limited (AILE) trades under the name Co-operative Home Care (CHC) provides home support services to people in the community. We are a not for profit charity that is owned by its workers. We operate on the same principles as a company but the difference is we don’t have stakeholder. We have members and the members are our staff.

As a not for profit we use our profits to make the business better and to provide staff with a better work environment.

Our purpose is defined by our activities. They are:

  1. Providing high quality care to the older people, adults with a disability and older people with a disability. We provide respite care for the families and support networks of those individuals we care for. We specialise in caring for those with complex and multiple needs.  We support and enable vulnerable people in our local communities to lead fuller and more active lives.
  2. Improving the working and occupational status of Care Crew Member and provide them with a rewarding career path,
  3.  Providing our members with equitable distribution of income, support services, ongoing training in social service care, business management skills, IT and general administration skills.
