Australian Korean Welfare Association

The Australian Korean Welfare Association (AKWA) aims to promote the welfare of the Korean community and to assist in the integration of Korean migrants into the Australian community, so that they enjoy a meaningful and dignified life. Services include:

  • Settlement services targeting newly arrived Korean migrants in Canterbury, Bankstown, Inner-West, Ryde, Parramatta and Auburn
  • Community development and education
  • Aged day care centre
  • English classes for pre-school aged children
  • A support program for elderly public housing tenants
  • Various community projects

AKWA is a not-for-profit community organisation, funded by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC), the Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA) and NSW Ageing, Disability and Home Care (ADHC).
