Aurora Disability Services

A unique registered charity that provides specialist day support, vocational training (Certificate 1 Hospitality), independent living and life skills, basic education, social and leisure opportunities, a boutique cottage craft industry, client operated Old Chapel Tea Rooms and Car Yard Café hospitality business ventures, student work experience placements (years 10-12), and essential respite for families and carers.

Out of hours activities include a weekly “Club Tea” social evening meal, a weekly Aurora TenPin Bowling League, and a monthly Karaoke Idol Disco Dance.

The organisation operates across four facilities in the northern suburbs.

Service Eligibility

Eligibility is dependent upon assessment of support needs required within resources available, and vacancy.

Inquiries welcome from family/carers, agencies, organisations or residential support, health professionals.

Registered with Gateway or an NDIS Participant.

Cost Information

  • Everyone who accesses Aurora activities pays an annual Association membership of $25.00 each year.
  • Attendance fee for Day Support services is $20 per day (no fee to pay if rostered for Tea Rooms or Cafe duty).
  • Club Tea provides a two course meal for $10.00.
  • The Aurora Karaoke Idol Dance entry fee is $5.00.
  • The Aurora TenPin Bowling League is $15.00 per attendance (two games) plus bowlers are required to pay national TBA registration fees of $33.00 each year.

Opening Hours

Day support programs operate from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm weekdays.

Aurora is open all year, but services for clients operate 47 weeks each year, with a one week break scheduled during school term break periods.

Karaoke Idol Disco night is the fourth Friday of each month, Club Tea social meals are Thursday evenings, and the Aurora TenPin Bowling League meets on Sunday afternoons.
