Kurrajong Waratah and the state-wide carecareers employment campaign has organised a forum in Wagga Wagga for more than 40 local residents and service providers, to learn about how they can transition into a rewarding career in the disability and community care sector.

This pack provides information on how carecareers can assist hiring managers and employers, details on how to advertise with carecareers and resources on best practice in recruitment and retention. The same information is available on the carecareers website in the Hiring Managers section.

The increasing demands of an ageing population and a rise in the numbers of individuals accessing disability services are driving a jobs boom in the disability and community care workforce in NSW, with up to 10,000 new workers needed by 2017.

Aboriginal job seekers can apply for a range of training and job opportunities in the disability services sector as part of the National Disability Services - Aboriginal Jobs Together partnership initiative.

This presentation document (current as at March 2011) provides an overview of carecareers, with information on how it all started, what the approach has been and what success carecareers has had.

In February 2010 carecareers held an official launch party to celebrate the start of the project and to thank the many people involved.
