Human Resources Professionals

Human Resources Professionals are responsible for managing and implementing policies, processes and strategy in relation to human resources and staffing. Roles can also be functional specialists eg, learning and development, organisational design and occupational health and safety.

Human Resources Professionals are also known as HR Managers, HR Generalists, Learning & Development Managers and Organisational Design Managers. Human Resources Professionals can also be Head of Human Resources or a Director of Human Resources, and in these roles they will most likely be part of the senior leadership team and will contribute to the setting and implementation of organisational strategy.

Given the wide range of specialists to generalists acrsoss this job family the required qualifications vary. Most HR Professionals will have studied human resources as a university subject or degree, however experience is as valuable as qualifications.

Experience in human resources is transferable from other sectors to the disability and community care sector and can also add great value, as can current sector experience.
