Frontline support roles
Frontline support roles tend to involve face-to-face work with clients in the community. Clients can expect frontline support workers to provide them with day-to-day services.

Frontline professional roles
Frontline professionals are usually university qualified, and the support they give to clients very much depends on their chosen speciality.
Speciality areas include occupational therapy, podiatry, physiotherapy, speech pathology, social work and nursing. Most roles involve visiting clients in the community which will require travel. Roles may also be centre-based within an organisation.

Transport and facilities roles
Many of the transport and facilities roles in the sector focus on enabling clients to continue to live in their own home – the work can range from installing ramps or modifying bathrooms, through to maintaining gardens or delivering meals. Administration roles
Administrative staff play an important role behind-the-scenes in the sector, organising and ensuring everything is running smoothly. Typically, you'll need to have great computer, typing and organisational skills, and be an excellent multi-tasker.

The corporate and managerial side of the sector ensures that organisations are managed in such a way that clients are able to achieve their goals. These roles require business acumen, vision, change management skills and the ability to work within a fixed budget to get the best possible results.
Levels of entry can vary depending on your qualifications and experience, but whatever role you perform, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that the work you do will have an impact on much more than a balance sheet.
