Alkira provides support and day respite at a centre-based multipurpose facility for people with a memory impairment related disability (dementia-specific) who live in the Westlakes area. The Centre offers a secure and friendly environment with discreet assistance and supervision by qualified staff to the frail aged and clients with a disability. Clients enjoy an entertaining and social day out, giving carers a much needed break. Alkira employs a manager, bookkeeper, activity officers, enrolled nurses, assistants in nursing, relief staff and food service employees. Volunteers and staff must have aged care experience and 2 years experience working with people with dementia. Alkira offers ongoing training, a home-like and team environment.
