These roles require you to use professional skills, knowledge and experience to assist and support people to achieve their goals and aspirations, to lead a healthy and fulfilling life and, to live in the community as they choose.  As an SPS 10, you’ll be a senior professional with comprehensive knowledge undertaking complex, specialist and advanced practice.  
 
Due to your experience and abilities, you will often be consulted by other professionals on complex matters. An instrumental part of your role will be developing service recommendations and implementing person-centred solutions. You may also be expected to provide formal practice supervision for other professionals, and/or be a function manager in an organisation or local manager, team leader or coordinator of a professional service.
 
Qualifications and experience
 
There are job roles in the SPS job family where formal qualifications and practice registration are a pre-requisite. Employers will specify qualification or equivalent experience requirements for particular roles. To be considered for an SPS 10 role, it is essential that you have relevant tertiary qualification plus significant and substantial experience in a specific discipline.
 
You may also have a post-graduate qualification in a related specialist area, and have good knowledge of standards required through legislation and/or professional bodies. However, as there is always more to learn, you’ll also be expected to undertake regular professional development to increase your knowledge and skill set.
