Executive Management (EM) 14

 

Executive roles in the disability sector lead organisations that assist and support people with disability to achieve their goals and aspirations, and to live in the community as they choose. There is a diverse range of roles within EM 14 such as:

 

 

As an EM 14, you’re possibly a senior executive manager, managing a number of significant multi-disciplinary functions, or may direct the deployment of resources in a complex or large service provider across multiple locations.  Alternatively you could be the CEO of a smaller organisation. 

 

Among your extensive skill set, you demonstrate a superior capacity to deal with executive complexity across a variety of disciplines, and provide overall program leadership on major long-term programs involving multi-disciplinary groups of staff. 

 

As an EM 14, you also lead and manage strategic change processes in a constantly shifting organisational, economic and political environment. 

 

Your communication and interpersonal skills are exemplary, as shown by how you manage internal and external senior relationships on key strategic issues, including development and maintenance of the organisation’s image and reputation, and your ability to positively influence communities, government departments, commercial entities and other community service organisations. 

 

You may not have formal qualifications or training in disability, but you will have other skills, experience, capabilities and transferable qualifications that support you to have a successful and enjoyable career in the disability sector. 

 

EM 14 roles are demanding and challenging, yet there is no doubt that through your leadership, you’re ensuring that your organisation and its employees are making a difference to the lives of people with disability.
